Constant Par-tay!

Wowee!  I just got back from Girls' Camp, and it was the best year yet.  We had some adventures...let's just say hottest day in 15 years, giant thunderstorm, and sleeping in tents.  But I learned that with Heavenly Father's help I can do hard things.  We had fun too tho :) I also deeply miss pageant, but it seems like an eternity away.  Anywho, I just got home, I'm doing my nasty laundry and packing, then leaving asap for Colorado...and we don't get back till the Saturday before school starts!  Not even one night in my bed...but that's okay cuz we're havin lots of fun :)  I just realized I have 3 summer projects I have to do. Eek. Oh well.

Pageant Moment

The most well-known scene in the pageant is when the resurrected Christ comes to the people of ancient America.  He proclaims, "I am he who was slain" - and yet he is standing before these people in the flesh.  He was dead, but now he lives.  I know we as Christians hear about this often, but what an incredible testimony of his divinity.

More Pageant!

Pageant keeps on rollin! We did our dress rehearsal in costume last night!  I wear a crazy black wig...you'd think I have enough hair already!  Anyone who is sadly not coming to pageant but wants to see it can text me and I'll send them a picture.  Honestly I've never seen more bermuda shorts in one place in my life. And they serve chocolate milk with every meal :) I'm having lots of fun meeting people from all over (well, majority from Utah), but I met this one girl who owns a taffy factory right next to her house!!  They make custom taffy with words in it!  All my friends might start getting taffy for their birthdays :)
Okay scripture: Romans 8:28

Update!

First full day of pageant and I was way excited to get on here and tell you about it!  I participated in the dance/movement auditions and made it...my part is a Lamanite Campfire dancer!  I haven't had any rehearsals yet, but watching other people rehearse is really neat.  The stage is huge and the grandeur and scale of the whole production is magnificent.  I will really miss seeing all my buddies back home at church tomorrow though :(
While I'm here at pageant I wanna share a scripture with you whenever I update my blog, just to give you a little spiritual boost like I'm having for 2 weeks.  I love these words and messages so so much, so please don't read them if you're going to take them lightheartedly.  Today it's D&C 29:39.  Love to all!

Me and my Bro

I had a crazy light bulb moment yesterday.  For the first time ever I saw the resemblance between Tanner and I.  We were standing next to each other in front of the mirror and I looked at both of our reflections and I saw it!!!  Now I understand what people mean when they say we look alike.  It only took me 15 years.
I know I've been a slacker on my blog lately and I really don't have an excuse, but I probably won't be on much if at all in the next 2 and a half weeks because my family and I are going to be in the Hill Cumorah Pageant!  For all of you non-Mormons, I'll explain a little. :) It's huge theatrical production- cast of 730!- put on on the side of the Hill Cumorah in Palmyra, New York, where Joseph Smith  found the ancient record that he translated into the Book of Mormon.  The pageant depicts different stories from the Book of Mormon and Christ's coming to the people of the Americas after his resurrection.  My dad was in it when he was little and he wants me and my fam to be in it.  We get our parts tonight, then have a week of practice, then a week of performances.  There's lots of special effects and cool costumes and every night there is seating for 9,000!  This should be an experience of a lifetime- can't wait to tell you all about it!
